FAQ's
How long will my dog groom take?
All breeds take different lengths of time, but I normally like two hours for each dog to complete all work included in each groom.

How much will my dogs groom cost?
Please take a look at our price list.

Do I need to supply or prepare anything for the groom?
All we need is for you to please ensure that your dog has been to the toilet before you arrive at the salon.

Are you qualified?

Yes we are fully qualified dog groomers and we have completed Canine first-aid and ultrasonic canine teeth cleaning courses.

Will you cage my dog?
We have two holding pens in the salon. We only use them for health and safety reasons. Your dog will only be placed inside a holding pen just before being groomed until their groomer is ready to start the groom and just after their groom will they wait comfortably for your arrival when other dogs are also in the salon.

We do not let dogs from different households mix.

We cannot guarantee everyone will be on their best behaviour. If dogs come from the same household we keep them together for company.

Your dog won't be locked away out of sight and will be seen at all times by their groomer.

We also have a secure patio garden area at the back of the salon which the dogs use for play, sunbathing, and toilet breaks.

My dogs is knotty can I keep its coat long?
We groom humanely at Claires dog grooming and we abide by the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
If brushing will cause harm or discomfit to your dog, we will have to take the coat short and start again.

No it's or buts.

This means the coat will be CLIPPED and taken very short to remove knots and matting. We photograph and keep evidence of matted coats and have full CCTV inside and outside of the salon.

We will also ask that every customer that brings a dog with knotting or Matt's MUST read, agree, sign and understand with the salons de-matting policy.

If you do not agree or sign our terms and conditions we will refuse our services.

With regular appointments, we can help you maintain a healthy coat for you and your dog and get the look that works for you both.

My dog skin gets irritated after washing, can you use a different shampoo?
Yes of course we can. If You have a medicated shampoo from the vets we can use. We do stock our own soothing shampoo’s which are formulated for dogs with dry itchy skin and which also helps to re-moisturize the balance of the skin and coat too. Just let us know on the day of you come to the salon.

How do you take payment?

Our preferred method of payment is cash.

As a small business we get charged for every card transaction.

Payment by credit, debit with contact-less payments are also accepted.

We no longer accepted cheques or bank transfers due to non-payments.

Thank you for your understanding..

What happens if I need to change or cancel my dogs appointment?

PLEASE READ OUR
CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING POLICY

Can I stay with my dog?

We ask you to please wait in your car in the car park if you wish to hang around.

As we find the dogs settle better when their owners aren’t in the salon and this also helps us to build trust and a bond with your dog.

Are you insured?

YES! we are fully Insured and and fully qualified in dog grooming.

We have also all completed canine 1st aid courses.

How often should my dog be groomed?

It all depends on the coat type, how much grooming you are prepare to do at home and at the style you want to keep your dog looking like. Most breeds with long hair will need trimming at least every 6-8 weeks.
