De-matting Policy.

Here at the salon, we abide by the Animal Welfare act 2006. We will put your dog’s welfare needs before vanity or beauty. This may mean your dog will NOT be groomed to breed standard or your preferred groom.

Please understand that we will not try and brush the knots or matts out. It is extremely painful and uncomfortable for your dog and will make their grooming experience a negative one.

You the dog owner, grant us permission to clip your dog very short with a 10” (1.5mm) or a 7fc (3.2mm) clipper blade if your dog’s coat/hair is knotty or matted.

A Matted/knotty coat lengthens the time the groom takes. It makes the grooming process more difficult, and we also must take consideration for the dog’s overall comfort during the groom. It adds excessive wear and tear on our equipment. For these reasons the final cost of the groom will be increased.

Irritation to the dog’s skin may be caused when removing severe matting/knots. In some cases, Hematomas can occur once the groom is complete.

I the dog’s owner, understand and agree to all of the above.

If my dog requires veterinary treatment caused by de-matting i.e., Hematomas, Skin rash…

I take full responsibility and incurring costs, that the groomer will not be held responsible.

You will be asked to sign our consent sheet to confirm you understand and agree to all of the above.

All customers must consents and authorizes us permission to photograph their dog(s) and grants us permission to use images for promotional use online and for other advertising needs.
